Day in Ikea

Whilst I was at home I met up with my best friend and a fun fact is that we used to always go to Ikea. Like literally all the time! And the good thing about our hometown is that Ikea isn't as hard to reach with public transport as for example here in Munich. Like always we strolled around the Ikea for ages, redecorating our dream houses in our imagination, had some delicious hot dogs and snapped some Outfit photos:

How cool is the jacket my friend is wearing?

I often reminisce about the time when we lived in the same district and would just hang around 24/7. These days we've been living in two different cities and hardly see each other which is quite sad. So I hope that one day we will be living in the same city again! I really miss seeing her face ♡

Banana bread recipe

I love eating Banana bread to me it is the perfect combination of bread and cake. And this is my super easy recipe. I really like how simple it is to make and the moistness is just yum!

Ingredients: 2 eggs, 2 ripe bananas, 50 gr. walnuts, 220 gr. flour, 75 ml milk, 150 gr. of sugar, 125 gr. of butter (should be at room temperature), vanilla extract, 1 tbsp. of baking powder and a bit of salt

1. Step: Mash the banana with the milk in a big bowl, I like to just slightly mash it up so you have a few big chunks of banana in your bread later for extra moistness

2. Step: Mix in the salt and baking powder to the flour

3. Step: Mix in the sugar, butter and vanilla extract

4. Step: Whisk the eggs into the butter sugar mixture

5.Step: Combine the the mashed bananas and the mixture from step. 4 and lastly add in the walnuts

6. Step: Pour it into a well buttered pan

7. Step: Bake at 180 °C for about 50-60 minutes

The finished result should look something like that. I tend to let it cool for about 30 min...

...until I can taste this deliciousness! Enjoy!!

Easter date with my daddy! ♡

On easter Monday my daddy took me out for lunch and we had my favorite food-SUSHI! As always it was super nice to come home and see my old friends. Although a lot has changed I'm very glad that those friendships hasn't! And of course I'm always happy to spend time with my parents so this lunch date was really precious to me because I really appreciate these rare outings with just my daddy and me!

Yummy! I really love the seaweed salad!

We shared this huge boat with a variety of sushi- I'm planning to visit Japan this year and I can not wait till I can taste the real deal!

OOTD: Jacket-Topshop, Trousers-Monki, Cashmere sweater & Bag-borrowed from my mum ^.^ (seriously it was the softest thing I have ever worn), Boots-H&M

Kimchi Recipe 김치

These photos of my kimchi recipe tutorial were actually taken in December so it took me more than 3 months to finally upload it. Kimchi is one of my all time favorite dishes and I crave for it almost 24/7! And I thought this recipe would go hand in hand with my *HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT* because I'm going to Seoul to study for one semester. I'm super stocked and I can't wait to taste all the delicious food, see my friends and just get to know the country better!
So here is my rather easy kimchi recipe:

Ingredients: 5 Tbsp. of Hot pepper flakes, three spring onions, one onion, one apple, one carrot, one Napa cabbage, a thumb piece of ginger, about 6-8 gloves of garlic, 100 gr. of salt, 100 ml of fish sauce, 1 1/2 Tbsp.brown sugar, 1 1/2 Tbsp. of rice flour, water

1. Step: Cut the cabbage into quarters and remove the cores

2. Step: Chop that into bite size pieces

3. Step: Soak the cabbage  in cold water for about 20 min

4. Step: Sprinkle the salt into it and let it sit for 30 min

5. Step: Turn the cabbage over and repeat that process for 3 times (about 1 1/2 hours). After that rinse the cabbage under cold water for 3 times and than drain it

6.Step: Meanwhile take the rice flour and mix it with a little bit of water and boil it till it gets to a porridge consistence. And don't forget to stir at all times

7. Step: Mix in the sugar and let it cool down

8. Step: Puree the garlic, ginger and onion

9. Step: Stir in the rice flour porridge into the puree

10. Step: The last step for the marinade is to add the hot pepper flakes, you can adjust the spiciness to your taste. I like mine low to medium spicy

11. Step: Cut the carrot, apple and spring onions into small pieces

12. Step: Mix the vegetables into the marinade

13. Step: Add everything into the drained cabbage and mix it well. I prefer using rubber gloves while doing that so I can really make sure that every is covered

That is the finished result! You can cover it up and let it ferment for 1-2 days at a warm place (about 20 °C) or let it sit in the fridge for 8-10 days till you can finally try it.

Enjoy!

Lisbon Haul

Here are the things that I bought whilst I was in Lisbon, I only picked up a few pieces because I really need to limit myself from buying so many clothes and focus on items that I can wear more often!

Ripped jeans from Zara, Midi Dress from Bershka

I have this habit of buying foreign vogues whilst I'm on holiday so of course I had to get one from Portugal. On the first day when we went to the Oriente train station there happened to be a book market where I picked up a book of Monets work. And my find on the flea market a beautiful tile which I will probably use for decoration

Souvenirs for my family: all kinds of different sardines a lot of them I bought in the sardines shop I mentioned earlier. And also I snatched up my favorite body butter from the Body shop in the duty free - THAT smell is everything!

I picked up some random bits in Primark - Bedding and some cute sports gear

Last day of Lisbon!

So this was already the last day of my Portugal adventure. The schedule for the day looked like this: first stop the Design & Fashion Museum, later lunch at Cafe Royale and after that going with the ferry to Cristo Rei. Actually we wanted to have dinner at a very nice Tapas bar but got caught in a promotion event of a random sardines shop on our way. We met a couple of very nice people and spent the night drinking cocktails and eating sardines. A very unexpected and fortunate event! It was a perfect end to our little Lisbon vacation!

Even if you are not interested in fashion or contemporary design and you have a little spare time I would definitely suggest you going to the Design&Fashion Museum, it was really interesting to see all the different gowns and furniture they had on display and in addition the entry is free
in the basement they had this quite intriguing display of a variety of different models of sunglasses - a lot of metal and cool tones of the interior made the atmosphere kind of a creepy and spooky

On the second floor there was this exhibition of the famous portuguese costume designer António Lagarto and all his work for the ballet and theatre

Cafe Royal - very chilled atmosphere and the personal was really lovely, too...

...and of course delicious food!

We took the ferry to Almanda, which was quite different to Lisbon and then continued with a bus ride up to Cristo Rei, where we had a lovely view of Lisbon and the Ponte de 25 Abril which is quite similar looking to the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco

Cristo Rei

I look quite irritated in this picture but I kind a like it
