April Update

Time runs so fast, I can't believe April is almost over...I'm a little bit sad because in only 2 months I will be back in Germany. That is why I try to do make the best of these two months, I've been hanging around with lots of friends and just enjoying life although my uni courses are really slumberous. It is almost impossible for me to keep me concentrated haha. AND the good thing is spring has finally arrived in Jilin, so we were able to enjoy the sun (at least for a few hours). But anyways I haven't found a lot of time to take pictures or write anything here on my blog therefore I only have some lousy pictures to show...

And also I have a announcement to make, I'm a bit surprised that I haven't mentioned anything at all; I'm going to South Korea tomorrow, for about 12 days! I'm super excited to be able to travel, to see a few of my friends and to experience the korean culture in general. Of course I have a lot of korean beauty products on my list, so there will definitely be a korean beauty haul!

Skincare Routine

Let's talk about skincare, ever since I came to China my skin has changed a lot, not in a good way. I don't know whether it is the food or the water or the air but something is affecting my skin.
Back in Germany my skin wasn't perfect I had the odd pimple once a month but everything was manageable. So I came to China last September and since then it had been one big nightmare, not only do I had tons of pimples on my T-zone but I also got some severe acne on my cheeks. Most of those pimples were really mean huge sore bumps that took ages to heal and to fade. Therefore I became really insecure and angry about my skin. That's how my addiction to youtube videos and skincare started. Till this point I still don't have a perfect skincare regime but it definitely reduced the amount of pimples and the procedure of healing.
So I have combination to oily skin and it has been very sensitive. My T-Zone is oily and my cheeks are normal. Like I've explained my focus is to fight acne and therefore reduce the sebum and the bacteria on my skin.

1. Alverde Heilerde Wachcreme : This is a rather cheap cleansing lotion but it organic, has no mineral oils in it and is gentle to the skin. Sometimes I use it with a small facial cleansing brush to exfoliate the skin a little bit.
2. Lush Tea Tree Water : I've read a lot of reviews about this product, I was looking for a gentle, alcohol-free toner for spot-prone skin, to be honest I haven't seen any real improvements but I'm still using it. I either use a cotton pad and wipe it all over my face or I spray it on my face and than gently pat it in.
3. Vitamin-E oil: I buy those capsules in the drugstore. What I do is I prone one capsule and squeeze out the oil and massage it on to the acne scar and  sometimes I mix the Vitamin-E oil with a few drops of Tea Tree Oil. This step is to help fade the scar.
4. Avene Triacneal: I put a thin layer of this yellow creme  on my pimples and acne scars. It helps but isn't a miracle worker and I only put it on at night because it isn't suitable to put under your make up.
5. La Mer Creme: The most noticeable thing abut this creme is probably the price, I got this creme as a gift. Do I like this creme-yes. But do I think it is worth the tremendous price, definitely not. It does moisturize my skin and it doesn't break me out but I haven't seen any major improvements of my skin. Also it leaves a slightly greasy residue on your skin.
6. Lush Grease Lightning:  Again a Spot Treatment I normally put this on last. It is a clear gel that supposed to dry out the pimple, it works really well on whiteheads or open 'wounds', not so well on sore bumps but I haven't found THE best spot treatment, so this will have to work.

Special Treatment:

Alpha H Liquid Gold: This product is hyped a lot on the internet, I have never tried a chemical peel before and I've read a lot that the Liquid Gold not only evens out your skin tone, prevents wrinkles but also helps fight pimples. So I bought it to give it a try, I normally use it about 2 times a week. So far I like it.

Vichy Eau Thermale: I always carry a little mist like that with me around. I use it for soothing and calming my skin. And it is super refreshing in the summer time.

Luvos Heilerde:  This comes in a huge pack and normally I do a diy mask. I mix about a tablespoon of the clay with half a tablespoon apple vinegar and a few drops of Tea Tree oil and leave it about 20 minutes.

Also I would like to include a facial oil into my skincare but that would have to wait till I get back to Germany. I was thinking about the Kiehl's Midnight Recovery or Clarins Huile Lotus because I heard a lot of good things . And also some Caudalie products are on my list that I really want to try- definitely not my last skincare post.
