Hangzhou photo diary

While I was in Shanghai I made an one day trip to Hangzhou. I was mainly there for the West Lake and managed to see the whole lake on one day but it was a lot of walking (15km!). Although it wasn't the perfect season to see the lake because the view of the lake wasn't very clearly, I still really liked it. Hangzhou has a lot of numerous temples, pagodas and gardens but sadly I just planned one day so I was in a hurry and couldn't see everything. Also I heard that in the summertime the whole lake is covered with lotus flowers. So Hangzhou, I will see you later!

This was on a little moutain on one of the islands, the mountain is called Gushan and it was my favorite place of the whole lake, it had a special feel to it, everything there was so picturesque!

Me ^.^ in the Yuefei Temple-my namesake

There are so many beautiful temple I really can't decide which of them I liked the most!

The good thing about the season was that everything started to blossom---beautiful cherry blossom

A little view from the West Lake and the Leifeng Temple in the background

Buddha in the Lingci Temple

I managed to have a boot tour on one of those 'traditional' boots it was really wavering though :D

I'm back!

I'm back! I'm soooo sorry that it took me so long to write a new blog entry. One of the main reasons were that my Vpn wasn't working so I couldn't access blogger. It is really difficult sometimes to access specific websites in China... but anyways for the last month I was traveling through China. I've visited Beijing, Puyang, Hangzhou and Shanghai. I will separate Hangzhou and Shanghai in two entries but so far I've enjoyed Shanghai the most!

Pudong Skyline '陆家嘴' -everything here was so clean and advanced I felt like having an inside look into the 'future'

Dinner at a restaurant near the Huangpu River

The view from Jinmao Tower on the 88th floor

The Skyline is even more beautiful at night!

Nanjing Road
Xintiandi- besides all of the modern architecture Shanghai has still remained a lot of traditional chinese buildings

Yuyuan Garden was a nice contrast to the hectic flow of the city, a rather quiet beautiful place to relax
Outside of the Yuyuan Garden, it was packed with people and all sorts of lights for the celebration of the new year
