How to: Couscous Salad

I really want to keep this blog alive and I luckily I found some pictures that I took recently on how to make Couscous salad. Most of my friends know that cooking is one of my biggest hobbies. I love the idea of a delicious meal and the only way for me to achieve that is to recreate it myself. My main focus is to have tasty dishes and if it's healthy simultaneously, even better! Couscous is a perfect dish for people on a diet because a salad like this does stuff you but it only contains a very little amount of calories. You can eat this salad on its own or have it as a delicious side dish. Let's begin:

Ingredients: 150 gr. Couscous, 200 ml Vegetable stock, 5-6 small tomatoes, half a avocado, 1/2 a lemon, red and yellow bell pepper, 2-3 gloves of garlic, mint, chives, salt & pepper, 1 tbsp. honey and 2-3 tbsp. olive oil

Step 1: Stir the vegetable stock into the couscous, cover it up and let it stand 10 minutes till the stock is absorbed

Step 2: Wash and then chop up all the vegetables into small pieces

Step 3: Fluff the couscous now with a fork and then mix the lemon juice, the honey, salt, pepper and oil into it

Step 4: Combine the chopped vegetables into the couscous give it nice mingle. There you have it!

Easy as that, bon appetite!

Pinakothek

From nowhere to somewhere - I'm really sorry for the lack of blogpost. Currently I don't have any access for good quality pictures because my camera is back at my old home.
Anyways what have I been up to these days? University started - a new big chapter in my life. New people to meet, new experiences to make and new stuff to learn (about me and of course things about my studies). This first week felt a little bit weird, everything is kinda strange and new. University is definitely a whole different thing from school or university in China. You have so many students in one lecture and it can get so noisy so quickly. It is kinda new to me that you are just a student out of a whole bunch of others and your lecturer probably won't ever get to know you. In my previous school education I was used to having a good or bad relationship with my teacher but never have I experience such an anonymity. Everything was much more familiar. And now you are one out of hundreds. But I just have to get used to it.
To something a little bit more cheerful, it was my birthday last saturday! Yayy! 20 years old not a teenager anymore. I must admit it is weird having a 2 in front of your age but that won't keep me to live my inner child. One of my best friends came to visit for the weekend. It was literally so much fun, we went clubbing on friday, did a little bit of shopping on saturday, watched a movie and went to the museum on sunday. It was such a nice weekend, not only to spend time with someone you are close with but also the things we did were a lot of fun. Here are a few pictures from our trip to the museum:

Probably my favorite picture in the whole museum-Claude Monet

Lovely peonies!                                                                           My friend observing the pictures

Thank you so much for coming and for the lovely present!

Lalalast days

My last days before I will be moving. Although I had to work, I still tried to manage to spend as much time with my friends and family as possible. Looking back at these photos makes me realize that I will miss so much and that it will be a whole different experience. Living on my own for the first time(!) The weather this week has been incredible, really sunny and warm. So the perfect opportunity to walk through the city and enjoy the last sunbeam for this year. Most of my friends either will move away or have already moved, so it was kind of a big goodbye to all of my friends. But I know I will see them on christmas because everyone is coming home from uni to celebrate at home, so it is just a goodbye for now. Anyways here are a few impressions on my week:

This is one of my favorite dishes at our local restaurant and it is even called after the restaurant-I went with all my girlfriends and it was a really fun night!

Beautiful view of the streets from my hometown

Enjoyed the sunny autumn weather and tried this cheesecake flavored ice-cream

On Thursday I had a lovely brunch with my close pal, she is one of my longest friends and we know each other for over 10 years

I got a super cute farewell gift from her- this cute pillow is from Ikea and a handy little brush from The Body Shop

Even the wrapping paper was super cute, different inhabitants of the forest. Thank you again for this lovely present!

I stopped at the pharmacy and bought some Effeclar Duo- I love to go to pharmacies they always give you some samples

Had a lovely dinner with my whole family, this is venison goulash and it was delicious

I found a new friend! As you can see the weather was pretty good so I could get my shorts out once again :)

Had some lovely dinner with my brother yesterday. This is Pide filled with goat cheese, aubergines, tomatoes and olives

Last days of summer

It is almost the end of september, I think it is safe to say that summer '13 is finally over. So no excuses anymore to procrastinate things like changing my summer wardrobe into a more autumn appropriate one. I felt that summer was rushing by so fast maybe it is because of the fact that I felt like this summer was split in two halves. One that I spent in Jilin and the other one here. Also I felt like there were a lot of responsibilities back in Germany that I had to follow so I couldn't be as carefree as I wished. But anyways I still had a few nice moments this summer and I'm looking forward to autumn.
Here are few things that I will miss about summer:

Really going to miss picking up fresh berries at the farmers market

One thing I love about summer is having delicious barbecues!

Opportunities like these just hanging around with friends and cooking together

Riding my bike in the nature

This is my go-to look in the summer: dress + boots = effortless cute

Parka-Primark, Dress-China, Boots-Stradivarius, Sunglasses-Ray-Ban

I've got so many different parkas, this one has got batwings and was a gift from my gorgeous friend
I love all the different colors of the sunset-so beautiful!

My bedroom

This post is long overdue. Realizing that I will be moving in a few weeks I had to make a post of my old room. Although I'm not a hundred percent finished with it, I think this is the best that I can make out of it for now. I really enjoy decorating my room because that is the place that I want to feel most safe at (haha so cheesy). But it's true I spent most of my time in my room and I want it to be perfect. When we first moved here and I had the possibility to redecorate my room I had this vision in my head to have it in a pink/white/grey color scheme. So here are a few snippets of my room, I do really like the result, it is really pretty and girly and filled with lots of memories. Enjoy!

My comfy bed I like to stuff it with tons of pillows. The grey heart one is from Barcelona

My desk is from Ikea and I like to put a lot of stuff on it

I bought these pretty high heels last year from Mango and I haven't had a chance to wear them once-what a shame!

One of my favorite things in my room is the stand bust. Usually I display her with my favorite dress/clothing of the moment

A sneek peek into my closet, it is time for me to change all of the summer clothes into winter/fall clothes

Here are my favorite dresses of the summer, I think it is such a pity to hide all of your pretty clothes in the closet. That is why I like to hang them up so I can see them at any time

Make up bag and my favorite postcard of Audrey Hepburn (she is one of my fashion icons), I bought it in Harlem when I was in New York

Details of my desk
So most of my friends know, that I don't like the corny souvenirs. So where ever I go I will buy a Vogue or an Elle to remind me of the place that I went

Overview on my jewelry, mainly rings and bracelets

I love small details in my room just like this little pearl colored elephant, or the retro postcards with the kids!

I'm moving!

So as you guys might have read from previous post I will start university in October. I always wanted to move to a different city to go to university. The reasons for that are simple, I want to try to stand on my on feet and have a change of environment. So the city that I will be moving to is Munich! That is why I've been so M.I.A. from my blog. I had to run a lot of errands like finding a place to stay, signing  up for university etc. I'm really excited to move but there is still a part of me that is a little bit anxious. Although Munich is just 4 hours away from my hometown, it still feels like a different world to me because of the fact that it is much bigger and I barely know anyone there. But that is just a small concern the main thing is that I'm excited and happy to start a new chapter in my life! And Munich is such a beautiful and exhilarating city!
So here are a few photos that I took while I was there. Sorry for the bad quality I took them with my mobile phone because taking my camera seemed a little bit unpractical to me. But there will be better quality photos of Munich in the future, I'll promise!
My university is located right in the centre of the city-most of the buildings in the surrounding were incredible beautiful

Odeonsplatz- just a few steps away from my university

It only takes a few minutes form my university to Marienplatz

Frauenkriche

The new town hall was so crowded with numerous tourists

Vapiano, my second home during my stay in Munich

soo yummy!
