Like a gypsy

I'm finally finished with my exams for this semester, I can not believe that this first year of university has gone by so fast. For my life here in munich I must say I am more and more enjoying my life here in the big city. Getting to know lots of different people and experiencing living by myself. Nonetheless I will be going back to my parents place in about a week. Hopefully this last week here in munich will be very much memorable and enjoyable!
I saw that I still had this post from the last time I was at home - let me really miss home

p.s. I love the countryside!

Bulgogi recipe 불고기

This was my first attempt to make bulgogi and I must say it wasn't hard to make at all. And the result is just so enjoyable! Like all my other korean cravings this started last year whilst I was in China. My korean friends invited me to cook and eat bulgogi with them. Also China has a more and more korean barbecue places. It quickly found a spot in my heart. In my opinion it taste the best with rice and lettuce. Sadly I don't have a picture of how to eat it (because me and my parents demolished it so fast ^.^)  but you can easily google it! So here is the recipe to it:

Ingredients for about 2-3 servings: 300gr. of beef tenderloin,  a carrot, 1 1/2 onions,  1/2 a pear,  2 gloves of garlic, a thumb size piece of ginger, 1 1/2 tbs brown sugar,  1 tbs of sesame oil, 1 1/2 tbs of soy sauce and ground pepper

1. Step: Cut the beef into 1-2 cm long strips

2. Step: Cut the pear and half of the onion. Also add the ginger and garlic and puree it

3. Step: Put the meat into a bowl and pour over the pear-onion mixture

4. Step: Cut the onion and the carrot into slice and mix it with the meat. Than season it with the sugar, soy sauce, pepper and sesame oil

5. Step: Mix everything evenly

6. Step: Put plastic foil over it and let it marinate in the refrigerator over night

7. Step: The final step, you can either put it on the grill or if you are just lazy like me fry it in the pan for about 10-15 minutes and then you can enjoy your delicious bulgogi!

Haul (H&M,Drugstore,Kiehl's)

Whilst I was at home I had a little shopping spree. Although I live in Munich with so many different shops. I still like to go shopping in my hometown just because I don't have to keep up with all the masses of people. This haul is not very summer appropriate but all of the things that I bought are really necessary!

Jeans, Shirt and jacket from H&M

I know we have June but I saw these ages ago in H&M and really liked them but my size were all sold out in Munich so when I saw these in the local H&M I just had to snatch them up. I'm pretty sure that I will get tons of use out of them in the autumn/winter time!

Rather boring stuff from the drugstore-I needed a new moisturizes so I wanted to give this one a try. I love sheet masks and this is the only one I know to get hold of in Germany and it is even produced in South Korea and the last thing was just a new sunscreen since my year in China I am even more conscious about the sun that is why I bought the SPF 50 one

I also made a sneaky visit to the Kiehl's counter...

…and bought the infamous Midnight Recovery Concentrate from Kiehl's-the lady from the counter also gave me lots of samples from various other products!

Heatwave

I went back home the last week because we had some days off from uni. The weather has been extremely hot the couple of days. And I must say about myself that I am not that capable in extreme heat because I overheat quite easily. So I wasn't really productive but I made sure to ease me through the days with a few nice things. I had a lovely week; spending time with my parents, relaxing, meeting friends and having barbecues! But now I really have to start studying for my exams.

Watermelon, watermelon- it's the best thing on a hot day! So refreshing and tasty also I have been listing to Beyonce's 'Drunk in love' and even she sings about it ^.^

Summer essentials: A good book-I'm currently reading 'Mini Shopaholic' I love all of Sophie Kinsellas books because they are really easy and fun to read, Stawberrrrrries (!) another awesome thing to come home to- I think the strawberries from our village are the most delicious ones and the few times that I was outside I made sure to wear my sunglasses and a high sunscreen!

Finally wore my Birkenstocks out - I think they will be my summer staple piece they are just sooo comfortable and I even convinced my mum to buy herself a pair

 Shirt-H&M, Shorts-Vintage, Shoes- Birkenstocks, Watch-Casio and Rayban-Sunglasses

Breakfast time: Heaven in my mouth!!-waffles with berries and maple syrup

Because of the immense heat I wasn't able to do anything so most of my time I stayed in bed watching youtube videos- I was watching 'Beautycrushs clothes rail'

I hope you all had a lovely week and enjoyed the weather!

Birkenstock

So since last year the Birkenstocks have become more and more of a stylish trend. And at first I wasn't really a big fan because I always associated Birkenstocks with an old hippie kind of person and just sort of ugly-just not fashionable at all. But since I am on the internet that often I saw more and more bloggers styling those sandals. It might be not everyones cup of tea but to me they have such an effortless cool vibe to it and the other plus side is that they are super comfortable!

I jumped on the bandwagon and purchased myself the classic 'Birkenstock Arizona'

Can't wait to style these babies- the only thing that hasn't played a long so far was the weather!

Asparagus casserole

It is asparagus time!
I always look forward to this time of the year because I can stuff myself with asparagus. Although it is quite a shame that you can't eat it all year round but it makes you appreciate the time that you can get hold of the asparagus even more. Asparagus is fat free, cholesterol free, sodium free and an excellent source of vitamin C. So today I wanted to show this really simple and super delicious recipe to make asparagus casserole for 3-4 people:

Ingredients: 1 kg of Asparagus, half a lemon, 200 gr. ham, 1-2 packs of hollandaise sauce, 200 gr. of grated cheese, chives, 1kg of precooked potatoes, salt, pepper and sugar

1. Step: Peel the asparagus and cut off the hard woody ends. Then cut them into smaller pieces. Pour approximately 1-1.5 liters into a big pot and put the lemon and some salt and sugar into the water. This will help to lessen the bitterness of the asparagus. Now let it cook for 20 minutes.

2.Step: While the asparagus is cooking cut the precooked potatoes, ham and chives and put it in a casserole form and mash everything together

3. Step: Pour the hollandaise sauce into the casserole form you can also add some cheese, pepper and salt into the mixture

4.Step: The final step is to mix the cooked asparagus into the casserole as well and top it off with a lot of cheese. Now place it in the oven on 200°C and bake it for about 20-25 minutes

The final result should look a bit like this. Enjoy your meal!

Black and White

One of the things that I am most excited about going home is to see my friends. It is always a nice memory to meet up and I find it really funny how you change but still remain the same.
These days I have been living in monochrome, I know not all of my friends like my new black blazer one of my friends even told me I look like a janitor but nonetheless I think I am at a age where you could definitely take some risk in what you will be wearing.

I'm wearing: Black blazer & Trousers-Monki, Shirt-H&M, Shoes-Topshop and Alexander Wang rocco bag borrowed from m friend

Lovely brunch and a lot of catching up to do!

Detail shot: Gorgeous Alexander Wang bag--one day I will be owning one ^.^

Have a lovely weekend!
