Kimbap recipe 김밥

Yesterday was the first time that I tried to make some Kimbap on my own. Back in China my korean friends often made it for me, it was such a blast just to be around them and cooking together (although most of the times I was sitting aside eating and watching them make the Kimbap). Therefor I have such good memories of Kimbap not only does it taste good I will always think about my korean friends and what fun we had while making it.
I must say it wasn't hard to make at all. The thing that took to longest while making it, was the preparation of the ingredients. I must say I was really proud of the result because I've already tried some korean recipes and most of the times I failed quiet badly. And the Kimbap was even approved by my parents! I will definitely try to make it more often because it's super delicious and perfect to bring along!

Ingredients for 5 Kimbap rolls: half a carrot , 50gr. of spinach, 2 cups of cooked rice, tuna, 100gr. ham,  1/3 of a cucumber, 1-2 eggs, 70 gr. of korean pickled radish, a bamboo mat and seaweed sheets
Step 1: Cook the rice like you've normally would
Step 2: Slice up the carrot, ham, cucumber and radish into small sticks
Step 3: Beat up the eggs and fry it. After that slice the eggs into long strips
Step 4: Blanch the spinach in hot water for 2 minutes
Step 5: Fry the ham and carrots for 3 minutes

Step 6: Take the bamboo mat, a seaweed sheet and spread a bit of rice onto it. Then place a bit of all the ingredients on one side of the sheet and start rolling using the bamboo mat

Tadaa! You should have a roll similar to mine--잘 먹겠습니다 !

The 1975

Last thursday I went to a small concert of the 1975 in Munich. My friend recommended their music to me and ever since christmas I have been listening to their stuff non stop. The last couple of years I have slightly moved away from the indie/alternative music but listening to the songs of the 1975 made me realized how much I actually like 'real' instrumental music and it made me reminisce of the times where I was totally in love with the Kooks, the Arctic Monkeys and all of those amazing brit pop/indie bands . I find the 1975 to be a very cool and talented band and I can totally see them being even more successful. The whole show was amazing and I wished I could play the rewind/repeat button just to be able to experience everything again!

The whole location was rather small and intimate which made it really special

Me and my friend were able to snap a quick photo with Matthew Healy (#beingatotalgroupie)

I love so many songs of them but my favorites are the City, M.O.N.E.Y, Sex, Settle down…well know thinking about it, I like'm all! And also I really like the remix of the Knocks because it makes it a lot more danceable. And another favorite is the cover of 'What makes you beautiful' it gives me goosebumps every time I listen to it!

Say hello to spring!

Spring is finally here and I'm back at my old home!! The last few weeks I have totally neglected my blog which I'm really sorry about but that is about to change because I have easy access to my camera now. It was so stupid of me not to bring my camera back to Munich because I thought it would be to cumbersome to take everywhere with but now looking back I missed out on a lot of good opportunities where I could have need my camera even just for the sake of having something to do. Anyways I'm planning on a lot more frequent blog entries so keep your fingers crossed on that.

Home is where your heart is-right?
Although the beginning of my new journey at university was kind of rough I'm slowly getting used to it and getting to know more people. Also I have moved to a new dormitory right next to my university and I have been enjoying every minute of living right next to the English Garden, the buildings surrounding the area where I live are breath taking and I couldn't be more pleased with my current living situation. Everything will be alright!
I've been at my old home for a couple of days now and it is so nice to be back, the weather these days is marvelous and you can totally feel spring is approaching! There are definitely benefits of being at home and I'm totally enjoying every minute with my parents.

I have amazing parents! Every time I come home my mum buys me some kind of new things for example this cozy warm wool planket

And she always puts some kind of small chocolate around my room

Finally having some time to read again! And I've finally started to learn how to knit, we will see how it goes

That was a call luxury- Daddy asking me whilst I'm sleeping what kind of pastries I want for breakfast

Winter Walk

These photos were taken back in january when I visited my hometown. I should have uploaded these ages ago but I just couldn't find the time to do it. The last month consisted of learning, learning and learning. This first semester was definitely a challenge to my ability of coping with stress, living on my own and the whole university schedule. Nonetheless these pictures remind me of an awesome time at my parents place. We decided to take a little walk in the nearby village and had some delicious cake from the cafe. I do really miss home and can not wait till the 8th of march!

Thank you Santa! ♡

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, I know I did! This Christmas was a lot more relaxed then the years before, I think with the years my family and I decided to take it rather slow with all the cooking and having a 'perfect' holiday. In my opinion that is a much better way because now we could solely enjoy the company of each other. I spent the Christmas day with my parents and at friends. It was really lovely we had good food, laughter and just a jolly time. This year I must have been a really nice girl because I got so many nice presents.

My presents: A new yoga mat, box of chocolate,  a book with 100 years of apparel ads, Nuxe Reve de Miel, slippers and an Ipad Air + Case

New cute Slippers from H&M, I get a pair every year, they are so cozy!

Delicious cake, cookies and chocolate! -Christmas tradition

The book that I got; so many beautiful old illustrated ads from the past. This book is so inspirational because in my opinion the fashion these days is always taking inspiration of the past

Finally got the Nuxe Reve de Miel, I've been sneaking around it for quiet a while and the smell is amazing

I was really surprised to receive this I think my parents gifted it with the intention to facilitate my university work

I'm so grateful for all my presents!

Home for the holidays

The perks of being at home: my mom always brings me tea and cookies while I'm watching a movie. The Holiday is by far one of my favorite movies it just instantly brings me into the christmasy mode. I love the old cottage in this movie, it looks so cozy and warm!

I'm home for the holiday season, and so far it has been incredible. Everything at home feels so christmasy and comfortable! I love that everyone is home and meeting my friends feels like nobody has ever left. Although the holidays so far has been pretty busy I still try to have some cozy nights at home with my parents. So here are a few photos from the first few days at home:

I put some lights out at my balcony

My lounge wear: christmasy reindeer sweater, sweatpants and cozy socks

These finally came in the mail, I've ordered these ages ago and it was such a struggle to track them down. I was really disappointed with the service of Hqhair.com, I can't really recommend it

And here is a up close photo of the brushes; I bought the Core Collection Kit (Face), the Starter Set Kit (eyes) and the Blush brush and so far I'm really pleased with the quality of those brushes

Baking cookies is one of my favorite things to do during Christmas

These are by far my favorite cookies and Christmas is such a good excuse to be munching these away ^.^

My mum is the sweetest, she always puts some decoration into my room hoping that I will like it

I've got these super cute new pajamas from my dad

Being at university in a different city makes me appreciate my home and my parents so much more!

Merry Christmas to everyone

Christmas in munich

So december went by so fast, most of my time I spent studying and going to university, very uneventful unfortunately. Nonetheless december is actually one of my favorite months mostly because of Christmas. I love all the delicious Christmas food, thinking about suitable presents for my family and friends, the Christmas decoration... I could count numerous other things. Although I had to do a lot studying I did took some breaks and enjoyed the Christmas spirit in munich. I felt like I had to do some catching up with christmas because of the solely fact that didn't really celebrated it last year. (Because in China Christmas isn't as important as it is here). Munich has tons of different Christmas markets, there is one for every taste. You have the biggest traditional one at Marienplatz or a really authentic middle age christmas market near Odeonsplatz and so on. It is very worth checking out, so here are a few photos to give you a little impression of my december so far:
The huge Christmas tree at Marienplatz

I went out and bought myself a Yankee Candle, I'm so in love with this scent and currently burning it!

Bought some gifts- this year I ordered most of my presents to avoid the stress in the shops

This was a little stand at the Christmas market in the Residenz, I loved all the pretty and very dainty christmas tree ornaments. I went there yesterday with a friend, nothing brings you more into the Christmas spirit than a cute Christmas market, we had some food and drank eggnog

Beautiful artwork made out of wood

The buildings along the Residenzstreet are all decorated with very lovely lighting- now I off to make some Christmas cookies whilst I listen to Michael Bubles Christmas album!
